10 Awesome Rock Music Songs With Terrible Lyrics

5. Sex On Fire - Kings Of Leon

Even though they are about as Southern as you can get without turning into a pickup truck, Kings of Leon actually first broke out in the UK.

It wouldn't be until their fourth album Only by the Night that they started to achieve similar success at home, thanks in part to this song.

Sex on Fire quickly grew in popularity thanks to its screeching guitar licks and endlessly singable chorus. This vocal hook was so good that people didn't even stop to question what it meant.

You!/Your sex is on fire!

If your sex is on fire, then please consult a doctor. You may have an infection.

That to one side, the rest of the song is lyrically ambitious without actually following through.

All the commotion/The kiddie-like play/It has people talkin'/Talkin'

In what universe did somebody think it was a good idea to include the line "kiddie-like play" in a song about sex?

Also, who's talking? And are they talking about the two people getting it on?

Weirdos.

All of this is nitpicking though, because this song isn't meant to be analysed.

It's meant to be sung whilst dancing round a firepit with your friends, preferably at three o'clock in the morning.
