6. Terry Venables - If I Can Dream

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ttRJuSKul4 Terry Venables tried harder than most people on the list in regards to tearing up the pop charts. However, it is more than likely that you won't be very familiar with any of the three records that the former England manager released over a very sporadic time period €“ his songs were very much like Peter Andre€™s, nobody seemed to notice them but they still kept coming anyway. Peter Andre has released five albums since 2009 apparently, who knew? Venables€™ most recent offering was a cover of Elvis€™ €˜If I Can Dream€™ and was released just in time to inspire England to a World Cup victory. As we all know, it didn't work and instead The Three Lions lost 4-1 to Germany. The record was a pretty painful listen and was not helped by the fact that El Tel could not choose between his natural British accent and adopting the sound of an American, Elvis impersonator when belting out his words €“ so we got to experience a crossover of both, interchanging at random segments of the song. Though perhaps England could have used the helping hand of Venables this year, after all they managed to go further in the tournament in 2010 when €˜If I Can Dream€™ was their inspiration.
