10 Bad Songs From Great Bands

6. The Ramones - I'm Not Jesus (Halfway To Sanity, 1987)

Penned by short-term drummer Richie Ramone as part out of the band's shockingly bad Halfway To Sanity album, €˜I€™m Not Jesus€™ shows the ugly side of The Ramones hard-rock influences. Feeling frantic and directionless €˜I'm Not Jesus€™ is soon to spiral of control, jam-packed with some clumsy percussive bursts and one of the weakest choruses to ever to find its way onto a Ramones record.

The track may pack plenty of testosterone but what it severely lacks is a sense of direction and a truly memorable chorus. It's true that part of punk rock€™s charm is that it possesses an amateur DIY quality, but this track feels as if it could have been thrown together by a bunch of angsty teenagers from the comfort of their parent€™s garage.
