10 Bad Songs From Great Bands

5. Muse - Unsustainable (The 2nd Law, 2012)

Muse fans across the globe broke out in panic after a trailer for their sixth studio album The 2nd Law was released on YouTube, revealing a heavy experimentation with dubstep. The offending track was €˜The 2nd Law: Unsustainable€™, a disarrayed mess consisting of a curious blend of arena-rock, dubstep and classical music.

The idea for the track was formed when the band were blown away after a Skrillex gig and sat down to write new material with a hard electronic influence. What hurts the most is that €˜Unsustainable€™ displays heaps of initial potential, soaring in with a chilling orchestral arrangement, it is when the band slams into a dubstep heavy groove however that this potential is utterly slashed to pieces.
