10 Band Members Who ABSOLUTELY HATE Each Other
Musical Bad Blood.
Being in a band is a lot like being in a marriage. Not a day goes by where you don't have to worry about having a healthy distribution of responsibility, commitment, and making sure your musical children are the best that they can be. On the other hand, that doesn't mean that you have to get along at the end of the day.
Even though a lot of these groups are able to make beautiful music together, it came at the expense of some of their personalities. From subtle jabs here and there to outward hostility on stage, some of those pent up feelings were laid out for all to see when these acts took to the road. The studio may not have even been a safe space for these folks, with plenty of the writers penning songs specifically aimed at one person who may not have been pulling their weight.
Whereas many musicians tend to play off each other and encourage each other to improve, this is where the need for success becomes so great that the actual writing process gets a little hostile. While many of these acts come down to a team effort, that doesn't mean the bench is all sunshine and roses.
10. Mike Love/Brian Wilson - Beach Boys
It's practically impossible not to get a smile on your face every time you listen to the Beach Boys. Even if you were born in the Arctic Tundra, the pure sunshine that these five guys were able to capture on their '60s singles have brightened up the darkest days, from the experimental magic of Good Vibrations to the unfiltered pop of California Girls. On the other hand, the inner workings of these boys have gone a bit sour over the years.
Since day one, the heart and soul of the group has always been Brian Wilson, whose way with melody was responsible for the group's early success. However, lead vocalist Mike Love has been letting his ego get way too big than it really should in recent years. Look no further than their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction, where Love treats Brian like a little brother and even goes on to call out other rock luminaries like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones for not having the guts to show up.
Even before that dustup, Love had won no favors with Brian after taking the band on the road while Wilson was going through his own struggles with mental health. While there is nothing but happiness to be found in these melodies, you might want to make sure that you're at least in good favor with the one who writes the material.
