10 Bands That Broke Up After Their Debut Album

7. Rites Of Spring

The topic of Emo music cannot be discussed without mentioning one of Emo's most influential bands; Rites Of Spring. Rites Of Spring formed in 1984 and had a short, two year long stint, before deciding to disband in 1986. With such an incredibly short career span for a musical act, Rites Of Spring released an eponymous debut album that has garnered a legendary status in Emo culture.

After Rites Of Spring had disbanded, vocalist/guitarist Guy Picciotto and drummer Brendan Canty joined the Post-Hardcore band 'Fugazi', remaining in the band until their hiatus in 2003. In the modern Emo scene, Rites Of Spring are claimed to be the pioneers of the Emo/Screamo subgenres, with their debut album influencing generations of bands all over the globe. Despite this, the band has never shown any interest toward a reunion, leaving Rites Of Spring a short, but impactful part of music history.
