4. Maroon 5
Right off the bat, it's not like Maroon 5 were necessarily the most hardcore of acts to begin with. When they started out in the early '00s with Songs About Jane, it felt like they were just the right kind of pop rock to fit in nicely as an alternative to something like Nickelback or Linkin Park on the radio. The concept of Maroon 5 doesn't really exist anymore though. This is the Adam Levine Experience and don't you forget it.
Ever since roughly Overexposed, Levine has been using Maroon 5 as a staple to just keep his star power rolling, with much of the rock being forever sapped out of their organs. Whereas songs off of their debut and It Won't Be Soon Before Long at least had some funk leaning guitar grooves to them, this is the kind of rock that sounds a lot better playing out of grocery store overheads than any self respecting rock station.
As many fond memories as you might have of songs like This Love from back in the day, it's safe to say that Adam Levine has gone the mom rock route and has no intentions of coming back. We wait for a song like She Will Be Loved...but we settle for Girls Like You instead.
