10 Bands That Just Need To Stop
8. Bullet For My Valentine
Oh is there any other band that epitomises the phrase "what could have been"?
In the mid-2000s, a new-aged metalcore was at its peak. A more melodic interpretation of the genre that utilised clean vocals, clean melodies, and generally had a much more accessible sound. The US dominated the scene, with big outputs from the likes of As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage and Trivium. Team GB remained largely removed from the phenomenon, until a small band from Bridgend decided they wanted a crack.
BFMV produced a huge debut release in The Poison that put them on the map immediately. The resulting trilogy that also included Scream Aim Fire and Fever had people speculating that they'd be festival headliners in no time.
And then Temper Temper happened.
Marred by cheesy lyrics, uninspired riffs, and less bite than a teething infant, the 2013 album destroyed any and all momentum the band had going for them. It was such a black eye for the band, it was able to put people off of the follow-up Venom, despite it being a massive improvement.
While the classics are great for reminiscing about school, no one is taking Bullet seriously anymore.
