10 Bands That Made The Same Album Over Again

9. Metallica

Of all the thrash metal bands arising in the early '80s, Metallica were never ones to be called a one trick pony. As much as the similarities ran rampant with the long songs that stretched to gargantuan proportions, you weren't going to mistake a song from Master of Puppets with a song from the Black Album or anything. For a band that was always about never stepping in the same sh*t twice, they certainly had something to answer for with these two Loads.

While there has been debate about the pairing of Load and ReLoad being considered two halves of the same whole, the fact that they stretched this project out over two records just feels like a bad idea in retrospect. Though the idea of alternative mixing with Metallica isn't an awful idea on principle or anything, you really start to feel the blandness taking over on the back half of both of these projects, with songs that seem to go on just for the sake of having a longer song in the mix.

There is a unique theory that if you took the two good halves of each of these projects and put them together, it would have been a much better record, and that shows in spades. But no...for some reason we had to put this baby out across two records for us to get the full picture.
