10 Bands That Made The Same Album Over Again

7. Motorhead

Most bands take pride in their ability to innovate their sound with each record. As much as playing the same rock riffs might be fun at first, it gets to be around the 100th time you've played them that it starts to feel a bit old. Then again, you can also have acts like Motorhead who hit upon the formula so well the first time that they practically can't do wrong.

Although the style of bluesy rock and roll from Lemmy might seem basic from an outsider's perspective, the grit in the attitude is nearly impossible to duplicate if you were just a band in a garage. While taking the elements of punk rock and combining it with the sounds of old time rock and roll and metal, Lemmy hit upon one of the most aggressive forms of music ever conceived, years before the thrash kids got to his doorstep.

Whereas most bands like to play tricks on their audience every now and again, you really do know what you're getting with a Motorhead release, with endless songs about life on the road, gambling, women, and everything in between. Compared to the kind of devilish songs that we find in the pantheon of metal history, this kind of badass troubadour that takes no prisoners feels a lot closer to home with Motorhead.
