10 Bands That Never Made The Same Album
2. Radiohead
Out of all the early alternative bands of the '90s, none blossomed as beautifully as Radiohead. For all the great music they have amassed over the years, they were originally dangerously close to being known as a one-hit wonder for their grungey single "Creep." As time went on though, the band turned out some of the most expansive music in the pop sphere.
Quickly outgrowing their sophomoric tendencies on the Bends, the band created one of the greatest rock soundscapes on Ok Computer, which many people laud as one of the greatest albums of all time. Just when they seemed to be ready to annihilate the rock world, the band took a left turn into art rock and ambient music on Kid A, which ended up being just as brilliant.
Covering both the artificial and organic sides of music, the band is still reaching for every kind of style that suits them to this day, from the loop like soundscapes on the King of Limbs to the baroque sounds and crushing themes that run throughout a Moon Shaped Pool. For as much ground as these guys cover within the span of one record, the only thing you can really expect from Radiohead at this point is their ability to surprise the listener.
