10 Bands That Were Haunted While Recording
4. Medicine At Midnight - Foo Fighters
For the past few years, Dave Grohl has seemed to be increasingly bored with trying to make the same kind of album over and over again. Not willing to play the game of just going into a random studio, Dave has steered the Foo Fighters through some of the wildest projects they have ever done, from making a song in every major studio he could think of on Sonic Highways to making the whole record in his garage on Wasting Light. It was only a matter of time before he turned an entire house into a recording studio, but Dave may have bit off a little more than he could chew on Medicine at Midnight.
As much as the record might sound like a mix of rock and dance music, there was actually a few stray spirits lingering around the house the band was staying at, with different spirits almost checking in on them from time to time. Being the old school horror fan though, Dave took full advantage of the situation, capturing the ambience on some tracks and even noticing the faders on the board being put into different positions than what they originally set up.
The whole thing became too much to even capture on just one album, with the band putting out some more material of dance songs under the name Dee Gees and filming the movie Studio 666 on the same grounds before the sessions wrapped up. This might have been some pretty heavy stuff, but it would only take someone like Dave Grohl to be able to turn paranormal studios into a positive experience.
