10 Bands Whose New Albums Can't Come Soon Enough

8. Queens Of The Stone Age

Queens of the Stone Age's 2013 masterpiece, Like Clockwork, really raised the bar for the band. That album was front-to-back no filler and brought the band's nearly two decade run full circle by having guest appearances from past collaborators Dave Grohl, Mark Lanegan, and Nick Oliveri. Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys and Elton John also showed up on the album, the latter calling it "The best rock album in five years". Band showrunner, former Kyuss guitarist Josh Homme, has been pretty vocal about his desire to quickly hop back into the studio to record a followup record this year. Of course, this is part speculation, as nothing has been officially announced. It is pretty early for a follow up, but then again many legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, the Pixies, and The Doors had no problem churning out a new album every year. Hell, recent indie rock darlings Portugal the Man managed to release a new album, sometimes even two, annually for a good five years. Like Clockwork is a tough act to follow, with such new classics as the epic I Am Missing and the psychedelic Kalopsia. Hopefully Josh and the band can maintain their stride and get another classic out soon.
