It has already been three years since Sail first got stuck in society's collective head, and AWOLNATION have been hard at work recording the follow up to their debut album, Megalithic Symphony. The band have been pretty tight lipped on the development, only revealing that former Journey vocalist Steve Perry would be guesting on one song, and that the album would be "groundbreaking". Megalithic Symphony had some of the tightest radio hits in recent memory, including Kill Your Heroes and Not Your Fault. The band - the mastermind of Aaron Bruno - blended electronica with alternative rock in a unique way. Upon the release of their debut album, the band went straight to headlining tours, which is unheard of, considering at one point Aaron Bruno was so convinced his musical career (being a member of Home Town Hero and Under The Influence Of Giants) had been a complete failure, and became a recluse. He began to write the music he wanted to in his free time, giving birth to AWOLNATION. You might make a Nine Inch Nails comparison, due to Aaron Bruno being the only permanent member of the band. If Megalithic Symphony was his Pretty Hate Machine, I'd hope the upcoming follow up will be his Downward Spiral.
