The Church of Rock And Roll was one of the biggest sounding rock records of 2012... yet, somehow, nobody paid any mind to it. It had everything you'd want in a rock band rolled up into one neat package: tight melodies and riffs, an energetic and aspiring frontman named Eric Sean Nally, stadium sensibilities, and songs about liking big, black behinds. As of late, Foxy have been recording with the legendary Steve Albini, known for recording albums from the Pixies, Nirvana, the Breeders, and many more (about a thousand more). Albini is known for his raw, heavy-hitting sound with an emphasis on drums. Foxy Shazam's earlier material prior to their self-titled reinvention was very chaotic and intense, kind of similar to the various projects of the legendary noise rock guru Mike Patton. Steve Albini would be a natural fit for this kind of material; does that mean the band will be returning, at least in part, to its old sound? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aajJQWCcfBg An official album and tour announcement is expected next week, so you should really give one of the most aspiring rock and roll bands today your attention. Oh, did you check the above video of Nally's trademark stage antic where he lights multiple cigarettes and eats them, making sparks fly out of his mouth? It's probably worth a look.
