10 Bands Whose Songs Sound Exactly The Same

9. Ramones

Towards the midpoint of the '70s, rock and roll had started to become too bloated for its own good. Though the hard rock bands of the day had led us out of the hippie generation, even those bands started to fall into idle sins, which made for songs that were too long and way too pretentious to take seriously. It was time for a change, but no one could have anticipated the Ramones' subtle rise.

Though they never scored any major success, the Ramones are one of the most important acts to come out of the punk movement, brandishing sonic fireworks that were all around 2-3 minutes. While the band's first record set the punk revolution in motion, the next few records like Leave Home and Rocket to Russia showed them doubling down on their straightforward take on punk rock.

The band did eventually start toying with other sounds (including working with Phil Spector), but for the most part, each of the Ramones stayed true to their initial sonic spit. Hell, this is a band that took almost half a decade to release a song that was over 3 minutes in length. People may think the Ramones is punk rock by numbers nowadays, but you often need bands like these to remind you why you love rock music in the first place.
