10 Bands Whose Songs Sound Exactly The Same

5. Creed

Up until this point, making the same song over and over wasn't necessarily a bad thing. As long as you're exceptional at what you do, you can build off of your sound until it reaches absolute perfection. However, when you only had a subpar sound to begin with, the next albums are gonna be a pretty bumpy ride. Enter: Creed.

When Creed first started, they had some potential, with Mark Tremonti standing out as one of the biggest up and coming guitar players of the late '90s. Once the band hit the big time with Human Clay though, Scott Stapp started to develop his vocal range in every wrong way. Though there were some angsty Eddie Vedder-isms in his delivery at first, Stapp spent the rest of Creed's tenure turning into the yarling rocker that we all love to poke fun at nowadays.

Even though many were pulling for the band to do a good job, much of their output ended up being a mixed bag due to the pitfalls of Stapp. From one song to the next, you could typically count on a sick lick from Tremonti which eroded immediately whenever Stapp opened his mouth. The band eventually found a new beginning with Alter Bridge, but with Stapp out in front, Creed were one of the reasons why one-trick ponies were laughed at.
