10 Bands Whose Songs Sound Exactly The Same

6. Blink-182

Green Day might have started the pop punk movement, but Blink-182 were its first true success stories. Though it wasn't uncommon for bands to take a more light-hearted approach to punk rock, albums like Enema of the State have held up as great portraits of adolescent angst for every millennial who hears them. However, having a definitive sound also means being constrained to that one sound from time to time.

Though the band were still on teen mode for Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, their self-titled record actually showed some growth within their pop punk field. While the songs may have been deeper, it was still hard to not see the same guys who brought you "All the Small Things" and "Dammit." The band eventually tried to switch it up for their reunion album Neighborhoods, but the last few years have seen Blink going back to what they do best.

Drafting in Matt Skiba to replace Tom Delonge, albums like California and Nine are perfect slices of pop punk that feel like the logical progression of that adolescent punk rock that we all grew up on. The lyrics might have a more mature bent nowadays, but Blink-182 just feels like the same pop punk brats with a few years under their belt.
