10 Bands Whose Songs Sound Exactly The Same
2. AC/DC
Most rock and roll bands tend to be filtered through a certain lens. From goth rock to punk rock to hard rock, there's always a certain caveat you have to add to your genre to make you stand out from the rest of your peers. People may have been separating themselves from the genre, but AC/DC is the one band who has remained unfiltered rock and roll for their entire career.
No matter what era of AC/DC you find yourself in, there's pretty much a checklist that every song has to accomplish. Bluesy riffs and chant-along chorus? Check. Open chords and ripping solo? Check. A singer that sounds like a cross between Robert Plant and a woodchipper? Hell, they did that one so well they managed to pull it off with two different singers. Subtle jabs aside, the reason why the band has been able to build their rock empire is because that foundation is stronger than any other band out there.
There's a lot of fundamentals across every single song AC/DC makes, but fundamentals are all you really need if you want to hook your audience in. AC/DC may be the textbook definition of a one-trick pony, but you don't become one of the biggest bands in the world unless you have the actual songwriting power to back it up.
