10 Bands Whose Songs Sound Exactly The Same

1. Nickelback

In a world where same-y bands are allowed, Nickelback is basically the reason why we can't have nice things. Ever since the start of their career, the band has given us no real reason to care about their music outside of a handful of riffs and one of the most deplorable voices in recent memory. At the same time, potential was actually there in the beginning.

On the band's first few releases, you could see the more interesting band they wanted to be, but once they tasted success, Chad Kroeger pretty much bought himself a mansion based on the strength of some of the worst hooks in history. Instead of authentically crafting a song, every single one of Nickelback's tracks feels like the industry-approved standard of what they think rock audiences want to hear.

Even on the more tolerable cuts from the band, the only reason why they stick out is due to the band's guest features, which saw them collaborating with rock gods like Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top or Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains. It's one thing to play mediocre rock music, but when you get outclassed by your guest star on your own song, you know something's going sideways. Nickelback certainly have their songwriting down to a science, but when you're coming up with a signature sound, you might want to make sure it doesn't fall into butt rock territory as much as this does.
