10 Best Album Finales In Rock History

2. Motion Picture Soundtrack - Radiohead

Most Radiohead fans had a bit of audio whiplash when adjusting to Kid A for the first time. In one of the more drastic career shifts in rock history, the band's embrace of electronic soundscapes and ambient backing tracks made a distinct line in the sand between the Ok Computer era and what they would be doing going forward. Even if some of the more caustic tracks left you a bit cold, there was a work of beauty brought out at the very end.

Inspired by Disney movies, Motion Picture Soundtrack is one of the most hypnotic songs that Radiohead would ever write, as Thom Yorke delivers a love letter in only the distinctively weird way that he can. As he works his way through the rest of the song, you get the impression that this narrator is either on the verge of a breakdown, in love, paranoid about the future, or a combination of all three.

While something like Ok Computer lulled you back down to sleep with the Tourist, this is the kind of song that leaves you with a haunting feeling every time it ends, with Yorke's soulful croon promising to see you in the next life. Even though you might not see this in your average Disney film, this is the sound of those beautiful scores once they've experienced nuclear winter.
