10 Best Blink-182 Songs
8. M+M’s – Cheshire Cat (1995)
Cheshire Cat is not the most accessible Blink-182 album. Due to the rugged production style and the fact it was recorded in just three days, the band’s debut record is not ideal for new listeners.
However, it’s still an impressive album. ‘M+M’s’ – the band’s first single – is a skate-punk classic with plenty of attitude and adolescent musings.
The drumming from Scott Raynor – though not overly technical – works perfectly alongside the grimy production style and helps to give ‘M+M’s’ its skate-punk sound.
Yet the best aspect of this track is the main riff. It’s fast, instantly recognisable, and one of the band’s more technically challenging guitar licks. Indeed, every time it comes back into the mix it hooks in the listener immediatley.
‘M+M’s' is certainly not the most polished Blink-182 track, but for more dedicated fans, this single off the band’s debut album is a must-listen.
