10 Best Classic Rock Intros Of The 1980s
1. Back In Black - AC/DC
'Back In Black' is AC/DC's best selling album and one of the biggest selling albums of all time, selling approximately 50 million copies.
The stakes were high for the first album with new singer Brian Johnson after Bon Scott's untimely death. Brian Johnson had previously been a member of UK band Geordie, who had scored a couple of hits in the mid '70s.
Their previous album, 'Highway To Hell', was their most successful to date and it looked like the end for AC/DC when Scott was found dead. Few would have predicted that their next record would make them household names.
Every AC/DC album is packed with great moments of tension and release, crunching riffs, distinctive intros and stellar axework from Angus Young and 'Back In Black' is no exception. The title track is everything that is genius about the band in microcosm.
Malcolm Young is the master of tight, dynamic packed rhythm guitar, the bass and drums are locked onto their target with military precision and Angus Young is Angus.
