2. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
Undoubtedly the most popular album of all time. Shoot, you already know what the album cover looks like, before we even share a picture of it with you. Much has been written already about what makes this a great, landmark album. But what makes this a concept album? It begins with a fictional band, alter egos to the Beatles themselves, introducing themselves and the concert they're about to play. Mainly, they introduce the bandleader (Billy Shears), when the song segues into him performing "With a Little Help From My Friends". The rest of the album is effectively just a collection of random songs until the end, which features the reprise, but it still remains a concept album, and one of the greatest ever made.
