3. The Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd

pink floyd Dark Side of the Moon_dark_side Considered to be one of the greatest and most successful albums of all time, it spent 741 weeks on the Billboard charts. It's on there right now, too. Not too bad for a 40 year old album. The Dark Side of the Moon has a very simple premise. It explores - among other things - what led to the mental breakdown of their original lead singer, Syd Barrett. Some of these are very easy to catch ("Time" and "Money" are pretty self-explanatory), whereas others are more obscure. The song Brain Damage has a line "...and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes...", recalling previous bad experiences they'd had with him. The album is mostly noted though, for being highly experimental, but generally accessible to the public, unlike many of their earlier works. It also features the aforementioned 'Money', which is the only song in 7/4 time to enter the Billboard Hot 100. Track Listing: 1. Speak To Me 2. Breathe 3. On the Run 4. Time 5. The Great Gig in the Sky 6. Money 7. Us and Them 8. Any Colour You Like 9. Brain Damage 10. Eclipse
