10 Best Daft Punk Songs Ever
6. Human After All - Human After All
Human After All is one of the few lowlights surrounding Daft Punk's body of work. After coming off of the massive success of Discovery, the amount of slapdash production styles on this record along with a few filler songs make it an easy pick for most fans' least favorite record. Then again, is everyone just going to forget how amazing of a title track this was?
Granted, it's not like the problems for the entire record aren't present on this song as well, with a heavy emphasis on reverb being way too overused in the mix. As the track goes along though, you find yourself digging deeper and deeper into the groove, with the overlapping vocal passages being some of the more exciting passages of the track. Whereas other songs on this record just feel like the duo are on autopilot, this song does a respectable job at kicking the door down and almost promising a completely different sonic journey for you to go down.
Given how harsh a production this is in comparison to their other works, Human After All is still a fine song that almost sounds like what happens if Daft Punk took the second half of their name a lot more seriously. I mean, when you have synths that leap out of a mix like this, do you really need anything else?
