10 Best Daft Punk Songs Ever

2. Aerodynamic - Discovery

It's hard not to look at Discovery as a love letter to Daft Punk's origins. Even though most of the lyrics and sentiments are tied to the idea of an alien band for Interstella 5555, the album itself feels like a tour de force of everything Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo had loved since their salad days combined into one album. If there was one track that has no business working as well as it does though, it's Aerodynamic.

For the most part, this is your standard Daft Punk dance track, with the constant cries of the title feeling like they're coming from high above the clouds whenever they swoop in. Just when you think that you have the initial groove of the song down, a ferocious metal guitar sound comes screaming through the mix, almost interrupting the initial basis of the song. Once it starts to build though, you realize this was just the beginning of the ascent.

As the arpeggiated guitar notes get more and more forceful, you start to feel like you're actually becoming airborne, before everything comes together into one of the most glorious combinations of styles that Daft Punk have ever made. There's no such thing as the perfect dance track in Daft Punk's discography, but something like this is about as close as you can get.
