10 Best Dave Grohl Songs (Not By Nirvana Or Foo Fighters)

1. Them Crooked Vultures - "New Fang"

Choosing just one song to showcase from Them Crooked Vultures is like deciding which one flavor of ice cream you would eat for the rest of your life. This list could just be songs from the one album where Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones made the world stand still in awe of the talent contained in one band. Even then, it would still be difficult to cut out three songs.

Ultimately, "New Fang" is the leanest, hungriest-sounding track on an album littered with classics. A bit bluesy, a little psychedelic, but it rocks in all the right spots.

*An honorable mention goes here to his outstanding drumming on another Them Crooked Vultures track, "No One Loves Me and Neither Do I," which opening pattern perfectly replicates the vibe of Steve Miller Band's "Take the Money and Run."

**Additional honorable mention to extra-danceable rhythms on "Gunman."

***Additional additional honorable mention to the sleek rat-a-tats on "Scumbag Blues," which turns up the funkiness on the otherwise trippy tune.
