10 Best Debut Albums From Indie Bands

8. Blossoms - Blossoms

Blossoms formed in 2013 releasing their self-titled debut album three years later in 2016. The sound of the album remains true to traditional indie music, with the drums and guitar being very prominent in the tracks and the sounds of the instruments remaining pretty much unedited. However, they do add in modern synth elements to bring their music into the 21st century.

The reason this album is important is because it did what other bands were struggling to do, it found success as an indie album in the mainstream, at a time when indie music wasn't very mainstream. Helping to show other indie artists the obtainability of mainstream success. The debut album peaked at number one in the UK album charts and it helped bring indie music back onto our radio stations. It received very favourable reviews, with many citing them as leaders in the indie/ indie pop world.

It's a wonderfully melodic album that manages to be upbeat but in a chilled-out kind of way. The album is filled with songs perfect for hanging out with friends, it’s got a great mix of really chill songs to sit and sway too as well as more punchy songs to sing and dance too. Making it a perfect summertime album.
