10 Best Debut Rock Albums Of The 2000s

5. One Day Remains - Alter Bridge

Much like with Audioslave, Alter Bridge also began life when a singer left a pre-existing band.

Only Zack de la Rocha never thought he was the Son of God.

After Scott Stapp left Creed under controversial circumstances, the three remaining members joined up with talented singer Myles Kennedy under the new name of Alter Bridge.

No disrespect to Scott here, but good lord what an upgrade.

Kennedy has vocal range and power that is nearly unmatched in the rock world. Plus, he's a former guitar teacher, so you know he can play too.

All of these qualities, along with those of the rest of Creed, resulted in Alter Bridge's stellar debut release One Day Remains in 2004.

Though the band would improve later on when Kennedy became involved in the songwriting process, there's still a lot to like here. The track listing varies from huge anthems like Broken Wings to thundering rock epics like Find the Real to beautiful tribute pieces like In Loving Memory.

Also, if you're a wrestling fan, then you'll recognise Metalingus as the entrance music of Edge.

That's enough of an achievement on its own to get this album on the list.
