10 Best Debut Rock Albums Of The 21st Century
4. Alter Bridge - One Day Remains
Some great bands have risen from the ranks of their predecessors in the past. Foo Fighters came out of Nirvana, Megadeth spawned from Metallica and in the mid-2000’s, Alter Bridge rose from the ashes of Creed.
The newly formed Alter Bridge wasted little time in stepping out from Creed’s shadow, releasing ‘One Day Remains’ less than a year after announcing their formation. Shades of Creed’s post grunge influence were present, but the overriding theme of this groundbreaking record was refreshing, energetic and conviction fuelled hard rock.
Myles Kennedy’s incredible vocals offered a new kick of adrenaline to not just this album, but the rock scene as a whole. Songs such as ‘Metalingus’, ‘Open Your Eyes’ and ‘Find the Real’ stand out as key tunes here, but in truth there isn’t a below par track in sight. Alter Bridge now have six studio albums, with the latest being 2019’s ‘Walk the Sky’.
