10 Best Debut Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

1. Royal Blood - Royal Blood

How many kickass rock songs can just two people come up with?

That was the question posed by UK duo Royal Blood with their self-titled 2014 debut release. The answer - a lot.

Royal Blood offered up a bevy of great new songs with just singer and guitarist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher in the recording booth. Yep, that's right - there is no guitar on this album.

It's just a heavily-distorted bass and the bare minimum of studio magic. These guys didn't even do any overdubs! Is that even possible?

The end result is an album that achieves that rare feat of being sonically cohesive without being dull. With just two instruments, the band created 10 distinctive songs that all bang.

There are upbeat rockers, menacing blues-influenced pieces, and even a slow pseudo-ballad. Once again, how is that possible?

Through sheer musicality and songwriting chops, Royal Blood conquered the world. This album went to number one in the UK and launched both men's careers into the stratosphere.

For its innovation and its sheer volume of great songs, Royal Blood's debut album is the very best that the 2010s has to offer.
