10 Best Double Albums In Rock Music History

4. Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin

The album cover for Led Zeppelin's sixth studio album Physical Graffiti has to be one of the best ever.

It just feels massive; like you're genuinely standing at the base of a giant, derelict building staring up in awe. The way the letters pop out and contrast with the bleak greyness of the rest of the image - pure genuis.

Oh yeah - this is an article about music!

You might be wondering how an album with only 15 songs on it can have a runtime of a hair under 83 minutes. That's because six of them go over five minutes, four go over eight minutes, and one of them comes in at over 11!

This would normally be a bit too much, but that song is the outrageously good In My Time of Dying, so we'll let it off.

Outside of the marathon tunes like the eternally-popular Kashmir, the album is full of amazing palate cleansers to get you ready for the next mammoth listen.

Without Led Zep, there would be no hard rock scene today. So do your homework, and give this treasure a spin.
