10 Best Female Guitarists Of All Time

2. Orianthi

2010 Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year and ranked amongst the top 12 Greatest Female Guitarists You Need To Know About by Elle Magazine, Orianthi really took the music world by storm back when she emerged in the mid to late 2000s.

A seriously cool rocker from Adelaide, Australia, Orianthi Penny Panagaris initially began life in the music world learning piano, before quickly being pushed towards acoustic guitar by her dad. Playing bands ever since the age of 14 or so, Orianthi was jamming and performing with the legendary Carlos Santana at 18 and went on to compose her very own album just two years later.

By 2009, Orianthi had played at Eric Clapton's Guitar Festival and the 51st Grammy Awards as Carrie Underwood's lead. Through the miracle that is YouTube, industry professionals and talent scouts began to take notice and reached out to the Australian to perform as Michael Jackson's official lead guitarist for his This Is It tour.

Just to round off a list of the coolest best friends ever, Orianthi is also really close friends with Alice Cooper, who she has regularly toured and collaborated with.
