Pantera are rightfully considered hard rock/metal royalty and Vulgar Display of Power is their magnum opus. Released in February of '92 to commercial and critical success, VDoP is often considered one of the most influential metal albums of all time and showcases one of the genres finest affiliates at their aggressive best.

Songs like Walk and A New Level display Pantera's crunching and brutal sound in the best way possible; while songs like This Love and Hollow speak to the depth of the band, so much more than just a thrash metal quartet. The album also sees one of Metal's finest guitarists at the very peak of his powers; there is good reason 'Dimebag' Darrell is so often considered one of the greatest guitarists the genre has ever seen and those reasons are littered all over this album. The album is rife with riffs and solos that defined a generation of musicians that followed.

Along with this Phil Anselmo displays all his impressive vocal range, Vinnie Paul and Rex Brown keep the album driving and moving with immaculately tight rhythm and a real punch. Vulgar Display of Power is an impressive high point in a career that influenced so many others.
