10 Best Hard Rock Bands Not In The Hall Of Fame

7. Judas Priest

Been Eligible Since: 1999

A defining act of British heavy metal, Judas Priest rose to prominence with their landmark 1980 album British Steel. Featuring classic songs "Breaking the Law", "United" and "Living After Midnight", the album is still as outstanding and cutting-edge (pun intended) 40 years later as it was then. Since the release of their debut album in 1974, Judas Priest have been cemented as heavy metal icons in the intervening decades. Having first formed in 1969, the band is still going strong to this day, their latest effort being 2018's critically acclaimed album Firepower.

For a band that has been around for as long as Judas Priest, it's still shocking to learn that they have not been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With a career spanning over 50 years, 18 studio albums to their name and an extremely dedicated fan base, Judas Priest is definitely a band that has made its mark on heavy metal music as a whole.

Heavy metal is a genre that the Hall of Fame seems to have largely ignored since its inception, angering many fans who argue that Judas Priest and other metal acts deserve recognition. Given the legacy and talent that Judas Priest possess, it will hopefully only be a matter of time before they and other metal bands are inducted into the Hall.
