10 Best Hard Rock Comeback Albums Ever

3. Back In Black - AC/DC

In 1980, Bon Scott was THE voice of AC/DC. His high pitched tones were completely unique to the music at the time and his voice made AC/DC's releases so distinctive compared to other hard rock bands. Following his untimely death that year, it seemed the band could go no further without him.

Enter Brian Johnson - a singer with his own high-pitched vocals, he was recruited not just for his voice, but also because of his performing style, which the band thought fitted how they wanted AC/DC to move forward. In July the same year, Back In Black was released.

It was an unprecedented success - having sold over 50 million albums worldwide and certified 25x platinum, Back In Black is one of the greatest and bestselling hard rock albums of all times. As well as it cementing the band's future, it also contains a good portion of their signatures songs ('Hells Bells', 'Back In Black', 'You Shook Me All Night Long' to name just a few). It also guaranteed Johnson's spot as a permanent vocalist and led them to continued success for another 30 plus years.
