10 Best Hard Rock Guitar Riffs From The 2000s

7. Danger! High Voltage - Electric Six (2003)

In 1996 a group of musicians got together in Detroit, Michigan and decided to combine disco with hard rock. It resulted in some of the most electrifying music to hit the 2000s scene.

There were two competing guitar riffs that contributed to this songs sexually charged energy. One was a simple repeated part with just enough squelchy wah wah pedal to add a touch of funk, and the other was a swirly lead part that accented the main melody. The verse riffs gave the track an urgent excitability but they made way for some classic hard rock power chords at the chorus, making this one of the most hard rocking dance tracks of the decade.

It would be unfair to say these guys were a one hit wonder band. Gay Bar was equally as popular and their later albums still had plenty to offer, but this was the track that put them on the map.

This was a song you could play with only the bare minimum of musical ability, but damn did you feel like a rock god pumping it through your tiny 12 watt amplifier.
