10 Best Hard Rock Music Videos Of The 2000s

4. Duality - Slipknot (2004)

Stumbling across a Slipknot music video as you switched between Scuzz and Kerrang in the hopes of finding something decent, was always an experience, albeit a terrifying one.

Slipknot made several memorable music videos during the 2000s. Before I Forget was one of the more tantalising, giving fans hints of what the band looked like without their signature face masks...

But, the story behind the music video for Duality is just as entertaining as the video itself. The band rented a dilapidated house that was set to be refurbished, set up their musical equipment, and put on a show for hordes of dedicated fans who swarmed the house and proceeded to do what metal fans do best - tear sh*t up!

Slipknot's whole thing was about sticking the middle finger to just about anyone with even the hint of authority about them. So, when the fans were asked not to damage any property during the shoot, the filmmakers got a shock. Several fans were injured when they broke through a downstairs window, and the structural integrity of the building was put in jeopardy when the first floor ceiling caved in due to the intensity of a mosh pit.

The band were required to pay a considerable amount in damages for the destruction of the house, but all the untempered metal madness resulted in some brilliant footage.
