3. Fell In Love With A Girl - The White Stripes (2001)

Yes, Hardest Button to Button was an iconic video, using some surprisingly simple camera tricks to create a low budget-looking, but very engaging piece of film. Even The Simpsons would parody the video in the 2006 episode Jazzy and the Pussycats.

However, their earlier video for Fell In Love With A Girl was a two-minute punk-rock exploration into the realm of stop-motion animation, which was just as impressive and completely different from the norm at the time.

When so many studios were spending tens of thousands on set design, large crews, costumes and a litany of background actors, this was, in its own way, a middle finger to the over-bloated music video industry.

Although this could have been a great marketing opportunity for LEGO, they initially refused a request to collaborate with the band in making LEGO figures which would have been included with each copy of the single. When the video exploded, however, LEGO tried to approach the band again, but this time Jack White had all the power, and told them to shove their LEGO figures where the sun don't shine.
