10 Best Heavy Metal Live Performances Of 2016

4. Behemoth

The summer of 2016 saw black metal legends Behemoth take to festival stages across Europe to play their latest album, the 2014 extreme magnum opus The Satanist, in full.

With all the material from what is possibly the best black metal album of the 21st century under their belt, the Polish quartet laid out a plethora of killer sets this year, somehow making such melancholic and evil-sounding music engaging and crowd-friendly in part due to their image, but also due to their sheer vitality and clear enjoyment of The Satanist's material.

Behemoth's full set from Derbyshire's Bloodstock Festival is currently available on YouTube and (even though its audio quality isn't quite ideal), I would wholeheartedly recommend any metal fan, or anyone interested in metal at all, to check it out.
