10 Best Indie/Alternative Songs Of 2017 (So Far)

The opening track to The Districts' third studio album is as chillingly hypnotic as it is delectable. There is little, if any, restraint shown here, as the band throw everything into this three minute banger.

Lead vocalist Rob Grote appears to have something of an epiphany during a late night thunderstorm, lamenting how he is "Too blessed to be depressed" and his memorable refrain of "I'm just a narcissist." It epitomises the band's developing maturity in being able to convey an emotional complexity through their songs, a trend of the overall album.

You would hope that the The Districts have plenty more barnstormers to come over the course of their existence, but this is the calibre of song that could come to define a career.
