10 Best Linkin Park Songs
4. Waiting For The End - A Thousand Suns (2010)
'Waiting For The End' is one of the best examples of Linkin Park’s ability to evolve. This second single from A Thousand Suns has an uplifting, more mature sound compared to their earlier work yet still maintains the interplay between Bennington and Shinoda.
Whilst most Linkin Park songs have a loud chorus and a more stripped back verse, 'Waiting For The End' builds to a wicked climax. Indeed, the finale of the song is a beautiful moment in the context of a live show.
Despite the more uplifting sound, the lyrics are surprisingly dark. In essence, they address feelings of depression and how those with a mental illness often hide their condition. Given Bennington’s passing in 2017, such lyrics resonant even more today than they did at the time of the album’s release.
Though the bulk of A Thousand Suns is very experimental, 'Waiting For The End' is a track anyone can enjoy.
