10 Best Linkin Park Songs

2. In The End - Hybrid Theory (2000)

'In The End' is rightfully one of the band's most popular songs. Though the song follows many of the tropes that are present throughout Hybrid Theory, it manages to rise above the rest thanks to an exceptional instrumental.

The piano melody is simple yet captivating, creating an instant hook from the start which then transitions straight into the first verse.

Shinoda's rapping in this track is amongst his best and is heightened still further by the irresistibly catchy drumbeat from Bourdon.

As for the chorus, Bennington’s vocal delivery soughs over the powerful instrumental to create the band’s most recognisable hook. Granted, the guitar work during this section is very basic, but it works wonderfully alongside the vocals.

Put simply, 'In The End' is the magnum opus of Linkin Park’s debut album, and given Hybrid Theory is their most commercially successful effort, this single is the most famous song they’ve ever recorded.
