10 Best Metal Music Videos Of All Time
5. Bulls On Parade - Rage Against The Machine
Long before bands like Korn and Deftones made a name for themselves, Rage Against the Machine planted the initial seed of mixing rap and rock together into a unique concoction. While many classic rock aficionados sing the praises of Rage, the band's roots were more in line the punk rock of Minor Threat than the bombast of Boston.
With their video for "Bulls on Parade," the band took all of their musical muscle and truly brought it to life on the screen. Interspersed with live footage, the video shows various forms of political propaganda while showcasing various instances of resistance in the face of oppression. As Zack de la Rocha spits his verses, the images feel much more visceral as they speak out against the hypocrisy of modern-day policies.
By the time the band reaches the halfway point, the resistance images reach their absolute zenith as they become complete anarchy. While some of Rage's earlier material felt like fighting against the man, this video seemed like an all-out war taking place in front of your eyes. As the ending riff pummels into your skull, the resistance seems to have prevailed, with the future left uncertain. What may become of this? We may never know.
