9. Undisclosed Desires- The Resistance (2009)
This track shows the potential of what Muse can do when they reach outside of their comfort zone. The band had a bit of a flirtation with electronic enhancements and programmed beats on this track, which were a breath of fresh air at the time.
The star of this is bassist Chris Wolstenholme, bringing a slap bass to the forefront of the mix playing around Bellamy’s vocal melody. It gives a bit of soul to a song that is meant to sound somewhat robotic.
While The Resistance as a whole sounds more like a Queen production, this track shows Muse playing with their styles freely and making great music regardless.
