10. Work - Iggy Azalea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zR6ROjoOX0 Native Australian Iggy Azalea tells us about the hardships she had endured to make it in the US as a successful rapper in her song "Work". The song, a mix of soft piano dropping into catchy hard-hitting beats goes perfectly with the colours and settings of the video. The video opens up with Iggy walking down a barren road in a fabulous outfit and shoes, a harsh comparison to her surroundings as the lyrics say "walk a mile in these Louboutins, they don't wear these sh*ts where I am from". The desert and tailor park setting in the first half of the video represents where she started, struggling to save money to get to the United States, then making it here to realize she is now without family, still has no money, and "sixteen in the middle of Miami". At the to the end of the video, while seducing a man, Iggy Azalea steals his car keys, representing that, by working hard day and night to make it, she was able to snatch her dreams up and drive off with them. We see Azalea strutting down Hollywood Boulevard, representing that she's made it past the desserts and dive bars to fame. This video gets me pumped and shows that through diligence and hard work you can reach your dreams, even if you came from nothing. Not to mention, this girl has guts. Not many of us would move without our families to someplace different, young and with no money, let alone to a different country, in the hopes that we may make it big.

Art is expression, with any possible form of media you can think of. Throughout my life I have experimented with many creative outlets such as music, writing, painting, drawing, sculpting, photography, and film.
Recently I have grown to love the art of film. It is a great way to get my creativity working in fantastic ways. I am now working on getting a degree in Communications with a minor in Creative Writing. I will be graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2014 and hope to pursue a masters in film down the road.
I have currently started working as a video/audio assistant and technician at my University. I also freelance write, produce and edit stories, poetry, and video.
I hope that someday I can produce my own films and work on documentaries focusing on nature and destinations.
Life is too short to stop and think. Act, see, and experience the world and it's beauties. There's no better way to do that than seeing it first hand, then reminding yourself later of what awesome things you've seen, by looking through your camera or expressing it in a story.
