10 Best One-Album Wonders In Rock Music History
7. All The Pain Money Can Buy - Fastball
One year after The Seahorses released their record, American band Fastball out out their second album All the Pain Money Can Buy.
Their first effort, Make Your Mama Proud, was disappointing to say the least. Dismal sales figures meant that it came and went without much noise, which their mothers were (ironically) probably very ashamed of.
They'd come crawling back for the follow-up though, which shifted copies by the bucketful.
All the Pain Money Can Buy broke into the US top 30 with album sales of over one million. That makes it a platinum record, which isn't too shabby at all.
The singles did well too, with The Way and Out of My Head both doing nicely across several regions.
In a cruel twist of fate though, this would be all the success the band would ever get.
Their third album, The Harsh Light of Day, was met with some pretty harsh responses.
It only reached number 97 in the US and spelled the end of Fastball as a major chart player.
To their credit, the band are still going today, having released a total of seven studio albums.
That's something for their mamas to be very proud of.
