10 Best One-Album Wonders In Rock Music History

3. Lean Into It - Mr. Big

American band Mr. Big are a weird one.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1988, the group put out their self-titled debut album one year later. It did moderately well in both the US and UK, but it didn't blow anyone's minds.

The release after that was a different story, as Lean into It sold like nobody's business.

It went platinum in the US, peaking as high as number 15 in the charts. The song To Be With You was a number one hit, as well as winning the award for "Cheesiest Song of All Time".

Things started to go downhill with their next album, which sold poorly. The band haven't had a top 100 album since Lean into It... unless you live in Japan.

For some unknown reason, Mr. Big are absolutely huge in the Land of the Rising Sun. Starting with Lean into It, the band haven't failed to score a top ten album in the Asian nation, even when sales elsewhere were drying up.

The "Big in Japan" phenomenon is fascinating and Mr. Big are one of the prime examples of it.

Will we ever solve this mystery?

Probably not, as not many people actually care that much about it.
