10 Best One-Hit Wonders In Rock Music History

9. So Alive - Love And Rockets

British trio Love and Rockets burst onto the scene in 1985 with their debut single Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven.

Alright, burst is a strong word. It didn't even chart.

The band wouldn't taste success until four years later and a song called So Alive. A pounding, synthy affair, So Alive is dark, twisted, and sexy all at once and people lapped it up.

Well, Americans did anyway.

The song peaked at number three in the US charts and topped the Alternative Airplay listings. In the UK, it only reached number 79.

Where's your hometown support, guys? Get the Union Jacks out!

Love and Rockets might have hoped for a rocket of their own to propel them to success, but their career never quite left the atmosphere. This was their one and only top 20 finish in the US, as they faded into obscurity shortly thereafter.

They split up in 1999 after seven studio albums together, never to achieve the high highs of So Alive ever again.

But good news, Love and Rockets fans! They reunited in 2007!

And 2009!

And 2023!

Do you think they might be strapped for cash?
